Ledger® Live Download & Installation

Ledger® Live is the official companion app for Ledger® hardware wallets, available as Ledger® Live Desktop (Windows / macOS / Linux) and Ledger® Live App for iOS / Android. To download safely, always use the official Ledger® website. After downloading, install and open Ledger® Live, then choose “Set up as new device” or “Restore device from recovery phrase” depending on your situation.

Ledger® Live Wallet — Login & First Steps

Ledger® Live uses your hardware device (PIN + recovery phrase stored offline) to authorize access — there’s no cloud password stored by Ledger®. Open Ledger® Live and connect your Ledger® hardware to complete the login and device verification flow. Complete the on-device prompts to unlock and confirm actions.

Troubleshooting: Login & Connection Issues

Common problems include USB cable or port issues, outdated Ledger® Live version, or a locked device (wrong PIN). Try a different cable or port, update Ledger® Live Desktop, and ensure your device firmware is updated via the app. If Ledger® Live shows “Error connecting account,” restart both app and device, re-seat the USB, and confirm your device is unlocked and on the dashboard screen.

  • Ledger Login not working: Confirm PIN and use an official cable.
  • Ledger Live App not working: Reinstall from official app stores and clear app cache.
  • Can’t verify Ledger® Wallet: Use the built-in genuine check in Ledger® Live to confirm device authenticity.

Interoperability & “Unable to Ledger® Trezor”

Ledger® and Trezor are separate hardware ecosystems. You can hold the same cryptocurrency across different wallets, but you cannot pair a Trezor device with Ledger® Live or vice versa. Use each vendor’s official app (Ledger® Live for Ledger®, Trezor Suite for Trezor) and export/import only public addresses where supported — never share private keys or recovery phrases.

Ledger® Account Recovery & 2FA Notes

Account recovery for a Ledger® hardware wallet relies on your recovery phrase (seed). Ledger® does not operate traditional 2FA for device unlock — security is enforced by a PIN and the offline recovery phrase. If you lose your recovery phrase, Ledger® cannot restore funds for you; contact Ledger® Help Center for official guidance but beware of phishing and never share your seed.

When to Contact Ledger® Help Center

If you suspect device tampering, face repeated firmware failures, or see transactions you did not authorize, contact Ledger® Help Center through official channels. Do not share your recovery phrase or enter it into any website or app.
